Fashionista’s are crashing with style, learning to dress with the times now that we are in recession. How? Reminiscent of the great depression era where cash flow wasn’t allowing for excessive spending, we are turning back the tables… Trading in “trendy” clothing for quality clothing that can last seasons, baggy pants, vests and newsboy caps are all making their come back. Subdued tones in shades of grays and browns are filling up stores preparing for fall. As the saying goes “When in Rome, do as the Romans do…” the same application goes for the recession…”When in a recession, dress as the recessionistas do!”

Long gone are the days where paisley brought back memories of your great grandmother wrapped in neck scarves. Today, paisley has been showing up in every place on every one that has a sense of fashion. From large prints to small, infused with color and class, paisley has been a hit on the runway scene as well as on the streets of NYC.

My advice, dig through your grandmothers closet and snatch up those scarves. Throw on some jeans and a wifebeater. Wrap the scarf around your neck and you are the ultimate fashionista!

With summer just around the corner and temperatures rising the streets of New York are jam packed with women stripping off the layers from winter. Skin is in. The more skin the better, perhaps to stay cool but a recent trend puts the cooling-off factor to a test. Spotted on everyone who is anyone from Lindsay Lohan to Rihanna even on the sugary sweet Brittany Snow on a recent trip to New York is the “summer hat.” These celebs have begged us to ask if the term “beauty hurts” has changed to “beauty heats?” Well one can only know if they test out the trend… and with that said, I am off to get my very own hat succumbing to fashion yet once again!
